In a recent blog post Mark Krikorian of the anti-immigration organization ALIPAC had this to say about the recent violence in Mexico:
This might be a good time to take another look at Glynn Custred’s long piece from last summer on worst-case scenarios in dealing with Mexico, including military intervention.
In reading through the linked article, Custred is quite up front that he is making a case, not just for militarily intervening in Mexico, but for a pre-emptive invasion of our southern neighbor.
I always figured Krikorian for a bigot, but to seriously endorse the idea of starting a pre-emptive war with Mexico? That goes beyond the pale. (and did we learn nothing from the folly of our pre-emptive war against Iraq?)

It’s far fetched to say the least that we would allow ourselves to start a pre-emptive war with Mexico anytime in the near future regardless of what was written. However, the solution is simple, legalization and regulation of every drug that drives the violence.
