My friend Kraorh just put up an excellent piece on the recent riots and back and forth fighting between Uyghurs and Han Chinese in Xinjiang/East Turkestan. This sort of thing is hardly my specialty (more accurately, I know virtually nothing about it), but I thought his write-up was superb, so I highly recommend reading it.
